New California Security Law

Effective January 1, 2001, all proprietary security departments are required to register with the state Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).  This is a new requirement, as in the past security departments did not need to register unless they were contract security companies.  The registration process is not yet posted online, but you can check back later and I will try and have a link to their registration form available.California Security Laws

Per the BSIS, the new law goes into effect January 1st, but they will not post the registration information until after that date.  They will not give a date in which they will start any legal action if you have not yet registered.
